As Chief Quality and Safety Officer, Dr. Baker oversees and develops quality control standards throughout the organization. Continuing education and adherence to evidence-based medical practice are what he believes enables Riverside providers to continuously exceed in quality performance reviews by national and state level organizations. Dr. Baker leads all education initiatives at Riverside, primarily through quarterly provider and managerial meetings, Riverside's C.A.R.E.S monthly company culture seminar (a mandatory educational session) and created and serves as editor of Riverside's company-wide quarterly newsletter.

Still primarily a practicing physician, Dr. Baker has created all of the Pediatric clinical protocols at Riverside Medical Group and always strives to deliver patient-centric, holistic care to every patient. His work in establishing a standardized care delivery model at Riverside has served several population health initiatives to identify gaps of care, determine actionable change, and facilitate better medical outcomes. Dr. Baker has direct oversight of the billing and revenue cycle, as high quality care also requires high quality documentation and billing. He continuously reviews and monitors key performance indicators of the revenue cycle, risk scores and cash flow to ensure the care services being provided at Riverside are guiding the organization on the right path for cost savings.

A testament to Dr. Baker’s commitment to quality and excellence in clinical care is the roles he currently holds on the following committees at Hackensack University Medical Center: Performance Improvement Coordination, Credentials and Advance Practice Nurse Exemplary Practice. In addition, Dr. Baker serves on the MD Advantage Physician Advisory Board.

Dr. Baker is passionate about providing excellent service to both his patients and his community. It is a calling that he follows to honor the mission of his late mother, Mrs. Izdihar Baker. Professionally, under his guidance and encouragement, Riverside provides evidence-based and innovative healthcare services and medical education throughout Northern New Jersey. Personally, he and his wife established a Patient Assistance Fund at a large children’s hospital in the name of his two daughters, Aya and Roya, to help ease the burden of increased medical expenses on families with children who have chronic or severe diseases.

Dr. Baker received his undergraduate and medical degrees from The George Washington University and completed his residency in Pediatrics at NYU Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Baker won the NJ Family Favorite Kids Doctor Award and the Patients Choice Award every year since 2011.
